Signs You Need Ignition Repair or Replacement
Ignition problems rarely appear without warning. The most common signals include a key that is suddenly difficult to insert or remove, a cylinder that spins freely without engaging the starter, a key that snaps inside the ignition, or an engine that cranks but cuts out immediately after starting. Sometimes the steering wheel lock binds and makes the key feel stuck — that is usually a simpler fix, but it still needs a qualified set of hands to resolve safely. Other times the ignition switch behind the cylinder fails electrically, meaning the cylinder itself is fine but no signal reaches the starter or accessories.
If your vehicle is equipped with a transponder key or a push-button start system, the symptoms can be more subtle: warning lights on the dash, a key that the car does not recognize, or an engine that simply will not turn over despite a healthy battery. Our technicians are equipped to diagnose both mechanical cylinder failures and electronic ignition faults in the field, without guesswork and without unnecessary part swaps.
